By the way... it would be nice to have the "Portrait/Landscape" switch in the "user defined" mode. At the moment you have to manually change the aspect ratio, if you want to make a portrait picture out of a landscape foto...

Yes, HF has lateral correction of chromatic aberrations. But it would be nice, if the correction work automatically based on the informations of the Exif. (This should also be possible for the other corrections: barrel, vignetting, ...) For that, HF5 should use a library (I am just wishing... :) ). ...

Of course it would be incredible if HF-V5 could support the PTLens library. Or maybe better the new LENSFUN library which is based on the idea of Hugin developer Pablo d'Angelo and includes corrections of lateral chromatic aberrations. Please read this: http://www.linux.com/feature/62136 http://lens...

Maybe it would be nice to be able to use Plugins at a specific point of the workflow.

For example:
1.) internal Brightness correction
2.) internal Color correction
3.) external Noise plugin
4.) internal sharpness plugin
5.) external lens correction
6.) internal resize
7.) internal retouching

Black Point effect jumps!?

Hello Danylo! I recognized, that the "effect" of the black-point-slider jumps. Between the values 0..2 there is no difference in the effect (in the picture). Form 2->3 there is a "bigger" jump in the effect and form 3..5 there is also no effect. This is going on up to a value of ...

Error in dcraw call parameters

Hello, it's me again! :D I found out, that HF has an error in the parameters at the dcraw call. IF I choose "High precision (slow, AHD interpolation)" in the preferences, HF delivers dcraw the parameter "-q 4". But due to the documentaion of dcraw this parameter should be "-...

Hello! After ongoing problems with that, I investigated a little deeper... and found out, that the real problem was, that the original RAW file was write protected! So HF copies the RAW file (with its attributes) and after the conversion, HF can't delete it. At the next call of dcraw, HF wants to co...

Hello Jarkko! I think the "failure" is that Helicon Filter embeds the colorprofile and Canon Digital Photo Professional doesn't. So, if you open an AdobeRGB imagefile of HF in IrfanView, the colormanagement of IrfanView detects this and converts the colorspace of the image to the colorspac...

Hello again! OK, just to demonstrate that a linear workflow should be an advatage for HF, here the test from above with the following workflow: 1. convert RAW with "dcraw -4 -T -w CRW_XXXX.CRW" (this provides an linear 16bit tiff) 2. open with Helicon Filter and do the exposure correction ...

Hello! I just want to answer/comment some of the replys of my post. to Ariel: Yes. of course, there are really enough sliders to correct an image in HF. I just wanted to show, that the exposure slider doesn't do what I expected. If I only want to correct the exposure of an image I don't want to use ...

Hello! I think, if Helion could advertise with an full 16bit linear workflow , this should lure/persuade new customers. In some communities the linear workflow is something like the "Holy Grail" of EVB. I think it shouldn't be too difficult to implement this in HF. In the Preferences there...

"show retouched" checkbox

Hello, one of the reasons why I bought HF are the easy and fast retouching possibilities! For example moles in portrait fotos could be easily removed by one click with the "delete scratches" function! By the way, the use of the "Strg" key is worth gold! An also very usefull funct...

Hello! Yes, I really applied exposure compensation to the Raw-File (which is linear). After some research about linear workflow during the last days, I now understand, why HF can't do proper linear exposure compensation after "normal" Raw-conversion. So I tried the test above with DCRAW an...

Problem is solved

Hello,

I have solved the Problem on my own.

I just have to delete the file "temporary_hnf_image.tmp" in the "\Helicon\Filter4" directory!

Maybe it would be good, if Helicon Filter deletes this file bevor every DCRaw call?
