Re: Remote on Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

Hi Stas,

Unfortunately my device isn't rooted and any log viewer I try to access indicates that root access is needed for full system logs.

Remote on Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

I'm going to use an older tablet as a monitor for video. It's a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 running Android 4.2.2. Remote is installed, but when I tap to launch the app, nothing happens. The app appears to start to launch, then the screen just remains blank. I don't have a camera connected, I'm just testing t...

Re: Rack Focus Speed

Hi Stas,

Thanks. I know it's not possible now. It was something we talked about as a consideration for future development. I guess it was determined not to be possible. No worries. Appreciate the update.

Re: Rack Focus Speed

Hi Stas, No. I'm talking about video. When shooting video, the A/B points become 'live'. I can set up the two points then, while recording video, I can tap the A and B points to switch focus between the two points. That's racking focus. Or pulling focus. I first mentioned this in a discussion with y...

Rack Focus Speed

A number of years ago (perhaps back in 2013, or 2014) I posted a topic (or it could have been an email exchange with Support) about using the focus adjustments in Video mode to do a rack focus. Set the A and B points with the adjustment keys, then when recording video, tap the A and B buttons to rac...

Re: D600 and HTC one via USB OTG

I've seen people using HTC phones and having it work as well. I've seen reviews on the Play Store and have tried to contact a couple of those users to find out their configuration. But HTC has told me that they don't support USB Host. My understanding is that as of Android 4.2 it may be enabled in s...

Re: Galaxy Tab 3 w USB OTG Not Recognizing Camera

On the Nexus 7 2 USB Host is dependent on the Nexus Media Importer app being installed. If that app is not installed, install it. Once you have the app installed, try again. If it doesn't work, try this: Power off the tablet and the camera. Connect the camera to the tablet and turn the camera on. No...

Re: D600 and HTC one via USB OTG

HTC doesn't enable OTG USB Host mode in its phones. Not even its high end phones. Sad but true. Other than Samsung, few manufacturers do natively support USB Host. Again, sad but true.

Re: Memory card error message

Unfortunately, I'm getting this error again. There are no other camera control apps running and Helicon is being used after a reboot so no other apps should be conflicting. I've tried clearing the app cache and data and still have the error. I'm using a D800 tethered to a Google Nexus 7 2. All the o...

Re: Memory card error message

Hi Stas,

OK, I get it. Makes perfect sense.

As for why Dashboard, for the book I'm working on, I'm looking at a wide variety of apps that do things I think readers would want to do. It's just a matter of discussing available options.

Re: Memory card error message

OK, report sent. I was in Helicon and recorded a couple clips of video. I exited Helicon using the Menu>Exit command and opened DSLR Dashboard; another remote controller app. Did a couple things in that app then went back to Helicon without fully exiting Dashboard (simply hit the Home button). If I ...

Re: Memory card error message

Sure. If it happens again, I will. I managed to get it resolved this morning by clearing the app cache and data, but don't know if that will just be a temporary fix.

Memory card error message

Am doing some experimenting with the app and was able to record video on one attempt. There is an SD card in the SD card slot of my D800 but no CF card in the CF slot. After disconnecting the camera and reconnecting, I'm now unable to record video. The following error message is received: "A fl...
