Re: beta 6.0.0. file changes reset after retouching
good evening.
what is the forecast date for the next release? Great software just a few bugs. I like the new beta version but I need a way to make retouching changes stick.
Thanks

beta 6.0.0. file changes reset after retouching
Hi I have been working today with the new beta for helicon focus. I did a stack with a rose. The stack end product had some artifacts that resembled paths or lines in the image. I used the retouching panel and edit out the items. I save the file a few different ways. I saved via file drop down menu ...

determining the final image
What is the technique to establish the final image layout or borders? The normal set up the camera on the extended macro rail with the camera at the longest distance from the flower. I focus on the part of the flower that is closest to the camera. Take a frame Step the camera forward a small step. w...

a solution walkthru for some standard problems
Would it be possible (or perhaps I have just missed it on the forum) to get some short videos walking us through fixing standard problems with focus stacking? It seems like halos of some form are a common problem for most of us because of parallax. I have spent many hours playing with combinations t...

It would also be useful to understand if the light variation is real or not?

Re: halo issues
Uploading some sample files from a stack I am currently working on. I include a few result files at various settings so you can see the issues I am having. Perhaps my step size is not large enough or I just do not have enough frames. Retouching takes a long time to do when you start with a bad base....

Re: halo issues
Thank upou for the quick response. To prevnet parallax i need to get the actual position of the lens further away from the object? To get the same picture I then have to use a longer lens? or tubes? or is parallax just part of the process regardless?

Re: Cognisys StackShot
I have done more work with the Stackshot. The device is very flexible. Read the manual very careful. If it does not do what you want it to do then you are probably using the wrong feature. For example, I thought in the Total Distance method I could set 20 steps with a distance of 10mm to cover 200mm...

Re: Techniques for shooting flowers using extended rail
My cognisys extended macro rail seems to be moving less than i expected. when i set 10 steps of 50 mm I get an actual movements of the camera of 50 mm rather than 500 mm. Some of my issues are starting to go away.
