Re: Canon Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1 compatible with Remote on iPad?

Oddly the W-E1 Wi-Fi adapter works brilliantly with the Windows implementation of Remote. I have successfully completed stacks wirelessly using the W-E1 adapter and a Windows 10 laptop. It is only the IOS version that stumbles. There seems to be some minor glitch in the IOS version that prevents suc...

Re: Canon Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1 compatible with Remote on iPad?

Thank you Stas. It feels like Remote is so very close to working with the W-E1 wireless adapter on IOS. The W-E1 and Remote work with perfection on Windows laptop wireless connections and that is enough.

Re: Canon Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1 compatible with Remote on iPad?

Hi Stas,
Here is the image created using a wireless connection between 3.9.7W on a windows 10 laptop and a Canon 7D2 + W-E1 wireless adapter. I attempted to duplicate using an IOS iPad, but the application issued a timeout error after taking 3 frames.

Re: Canon Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1 compatible with Remote on iPad?

Hi Stas, Just to be absolutely certain I ran a new test. Using a Windows 10 laptop and Remote version 3.9.7W I was able to set up a wireless connection with a Canon 7D2 using a W-E1 wireless adapter. I successfully shot a 51 stack sequence. I had requested that the images stay in the camera, but not...

Re: Canon Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1 compatible with Remote on iPad?

I tried the 3.9.7 iPad update with the Canon 7D2 + W-E1 combination. The behavior is exactly the same as before. I was able to change exposure, set the near and far focus points, return to the beginning focus point, hit the start shooting button, first shot fired, second shot fired, time out error. ...

Re: Canon Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1 compatible with Remote on iPad?

Thank you Stas. I understand that it is very complicated to keep such an app working on so many different camera's on so many different operating systems, particularly so for iOS.

Re: Canon Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1 compatible with Remote on iPad?

Jim Gnitecki: Thank you for your reply and interest in the issue. We are using the same firmware and IOS versions. Hard to imagine that the card brand/speed should make a difference in the app’s ability to recognize that a memory card is present, but stranger things have happened, might be worth a s...

Re: Canon Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1 compatible with Remote on iPad?

OK, I completely restored my iPad and only added the Helicon Remote app back on. I deleted all of the wireless sets on the camera and made a new one devoted to the iPad to use with Helicon Remote. As usual I was able to connect with and control the camera from the app. I set up the near and far focu...

Re: Canon Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1 compatible with Remote on iPad?

Thank you Stas and Jim. I will clear everything out and try it again this weekend. It seemed like much of Jim's earlier posts were related to maintaining a wifi connection between the ipad and camera. I have been able to do that with no problem using a dedicated "set3". No problem to see t...

Re: Canon Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1 compatible with Remote on iPad?

Hi Stas, thank you for the reply. A CF card was in memory slot 1 and the W-EI wireless adapter was in slot 2, (SD). The W-E1 adapter does not have any memory on the card. This is a CF card that I have used for years and successfully used it this morning. In the recent past I was able to shoot a stac...

Re: Canon Wi-Fi Adapter W-E1 compatible with Remote on iPad?

Hi Stas, I recently replaced my dead Canon 7D with the 7D2. It came with the W-E1 wireless adapter. Reading through the discussion in this thread I was able to set up a dedicated connection set on my iPad for the camera and have been able to get the Helicon Remote app to work with the camera. Connec...

Re: Batch Processing Limitation

Hi Stas, Thank you for the reply, but the ability to run serial single batch jobs diminishes the value of being able to set up many jobs at once and being able to walk away and do something else. Once the computer becomes occupied working on the first batch request it is slower to get subsequent tas...

Batch Processing Limitation

Prior to version 6 using batch processing seemed to work quite well and was easy to use. It was possible to specify a variety of Radius and Smoothing parameters on a given set of source images. Now it appears that the only way into batch processing is to start with sub-folders. Once I have specified...

Output file as retouch source file

When retouching one output file how can I access a different output file as a source for retouching? For instance if I have two output files, one processed with Method B and one with Method C. If I want some of the image from the Method C result to be cloned into the Method B result, how do I access...
